How to set up your swissmail.org account with Eudora 5.1

You will need the following information for the setup with Eudora:

• Your Incoming Mail Server (POP/IMAP)

• Your Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)

• Your email login name (user name/account name)

• Your email address

You will find the necessary information by accessing your account at http://www.swissmail.org. To get your account specific information, click on the ControlCenter button, log into your account, click on "Accountdata" in the left hand navigation menu and scroll down to "Mailbox (POP3/IMAP) access settings".

Now you are ready to get started!

In Eudora, go to the Tools menu and select Options...

Select the Getting started icon under Category in the Options window.

Real Name: Type your name the way you would like people to see it when they get email from you. Return Address: Enter your swissmail.org email address. Mail Server (Incoming): Enter the respective POP/IMAP mail server, e.g. for secure email access: secure.swissmail.org for non-secure email access: pop.swissmail.org Login Name: Enter your User/Account Name. SMTP Server (Outgoing): Enter the respective mail server, e.g. for secure email access: secure.swissmail.org and for non-secure email access: smtp.swissmail.org

Select the Checking Mail icon under Category in the Options window.

Mail Server (Incoming): Enter the respective POP/IMAP mail server, e.g. for secure email access: secure.swissmail.org and select "Required, Alternate Port" for Secure Sockets. For non-secure email access: pop.swissmail.org and select "Never" for Secure Sockets. Login Name: Enter your User/Account Name. Select options as shown on the screen shot.
