How to set up your swissmail.org account for Eudora 5.1

You will need the following information to setup your swissmail.org email account:

  • Your Incoming Mail Server (POP/IMAP) and Server Port Number

  • Your Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) and Server Port Number

  • Your email login name (user name/account name)

  • Your email address

You will find the necessary information by accessing your account via our WebSite at www.swissmail.org. To get your account specific information, log into your account, click on the ControlCenter button, click on "Accountdata" in the left hand navigation menu and scroll down to "Mailbox (POP3/IMAP) access settings".

Now you are ready to get started!

In Eudora, go to the Tools menu and select Options...

Setup Email
Select the Getting started icon under Category in the Options window.

Setup Email

Real Name: Type your name the way you would like people to see it when they get email from you.

Return Address: Enter your swissmail.org email address.

Mail Server (Incoming): Enter the respective POP3/IMAP mail server.

secure email access: secure.swissmail.org
select "Required, Alternate Port" for Secure Sockets.
unsecure email access:pop.swissmail.org
select "Never" for Secure Sockets.

Login Name: Enter your User/Account Name.

SMTP Server (Outgoing): Enter the respective mail server.

secure email access: secure.swissmail.org
select "Required, Alternate Port" for Secure Sockets.
unsecure email access: smtp.swissmail.org
select "Never" for Secure Sockets.

Select options as shown on the screen shot.
Select the Checking Mail icon under Category in the Options window.

Setup Email

Mail Server (Incoming): Enter the respective POP3/IMAP mail server.

secure email access: secure.swissmail.org
select "Required, Alternate Port" for Secure Sockets.
unsecure email access: pop.swissmail.org
select "Never" for Secure Sockets.

Select options as shown on the screen shot.
Select the Incoming Mail icon under Category in the Options window.

Setup Email

Choose between POP and IMAP and select options as shown on the screen shot.

Select the Sending Mail icon under Category in the Options window.

Setup Email

Return Address: Enter your swissmail.org email address.

SMTP Server (Outgoing): Enter the respective mail server

secure email access: secure.swissmail.org
select "Required, Alternate Port" for Secure Sockets.
unsecure email access: smtp.swissmail.org
select "Never" for Secure Sockets.
