How to set up your swissmail.org account with your iPhone or iPad

You will need the following information to setup your swissmail.org email account:

  • Your Incoming Mail Server (POP/IMAP) and Server Port Number

  • Your Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) and Server Port Number

  • Your email login name (user name/account name)

  • Your email address

You will find the necessary information by accessing your account via our WebSite at www.swissmail.org. To get your account specific information, log into your account, click on the ControlCenter button, click on "Accountdata" in the left hand navigation menu and scroll down to "Mailbox (POP3/IMAP) access settings".

Now you are ready to get started!

From the Home screen, tap Settings.

On the Settings screen, tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Complete the following fields, and then tap Save.

Name: The name to display on your email Address
Address: Your email address.
Password: Your email account password.
Description: Description shows up in the email account list on your iPhone.
Use IMAP if possible. Imap synchronzes emails between your Iphone and our servers and allows you to access folders on our servers. Whereas POP3 downloads all emails to your Iphone and deletes the emails on our servers. Folders on our servers can not be accessed.

Setup Email

Username: Verify your username on our website. Log into your account on swissmail.org, select "Controlcenter" and then "Accountdata" at the left.

Password: Be aware that the password is case sensitive.

Incoming Mail Server:
Secure settings (encrypted access):  Unsecure settings (no encryption):
Incoming Secure Mail (IMAP with SSL*) Server:
secure.swissmail.org; Port 993**		 Incoming Mail (IMAP)Server:
pop.dombox.com; Port 143**
Incoming Secure Mail (POP3 with SSL*) Server:
secure.swissmail.org; Port 995**		 Incoming Mail (POP3)Server:

* At the end of the setup you will find an explanation on how to enable SSL in your iPhone.

** At the end of the setup you will find an explanation where to enter the Port Numbers.
Enter the neccessary information for the outgoing server accordingly to the information you set
 up for the incoming server.

Congratulation! The setup is almost done! In the last part of the setup you'll find out how to enable SSL on your iPhone and where to enter the Port Numbers.
From the Home screen, tap Settings. On the Settings screen, tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Tap your account (testaccount@swissmail.org)

Tap advanced.

Tap Use SSL if you have chosen the secure settings. Enter the Server Port for the Incoming Mail Server.

Use secure connection (SSL): select this option only if you have chosen the secure IMAP/POP mail server. Please note that SSL will be used in any case. If no SSL connection can be established no connection at all will be established.

Tap save.

From the SMTP menu, tap the primary outgoing server for the account. This will be the server name assigned to your domain.

To Use SSL, tap ON.

Tap Server Port and change it.

Tap Save. Congratulation! The setup is done!
